Abstract

The report provides a comprehensive compilation of information on various earth reinforcement systems which are currently used in the construction of embankments and to stabilise existing slopes. Earth reinforcement systems covered include reinforcement material, backfill or in-place soil, and facing elements. The report presents an all-inclusive review of earth reinforcement as well as details concerning specific earth reinforcement systems covering their mechanisms, behaviour, applications, designs and durability.
