On November 28th, 1996, Rijkswaterstaat in the province of South Holland brought a Dynamic Route Information Panel (DRIP) into operation on the A13 motorway between The Hague and Rotterdam. The DRIP displays current travel times from the Ypenburg interchange to the Kleinpolderplein interchange. An evaluation was carried out on behalf of the Transport Research Centre (AVV) in order to ascertain the effects of the DRIP travel time. The evaluation consisted of two parts. In the first part the effects of the DRIP travel time were assessed, and in the second part the travel time estimator algorithm and the text algorithm were assessed. This report describes the results of the first part. (A)
