Abstract

The analysis of accidents with bodily injuries registered in 1970 outside the urban zones has permitted the studying of the relationship which exists between the number of accidents that occur annually on a determined road and the average traffic on this road. The average traffic volume appears as an essential explanation factor of the number of accidents. A relationship more complex than a simple proportionality has been revealed.
