Abstract

The centre lane carried a higher percentage of traffic than either median lane or shoulder lane in the morning peak, and during the evening peak the median and the centerlane were equally utilised. For the afternoon peak, single unit and combination trucks were primary users of shoulder lane. Further there are some traffic models discussed in the paper to estimate usage of a certain lane.
