Abstract

A study was made in 1967 of journey speeds- and flows along all main roads within the administrative areas of 8 towns of population ranging from 70.000 to ½ million; this survey was a repeat of a study made as a part of the 48 towns survey in 1963 (PA 2228). This report outlines the survey techniques used and presents summaries of measurements made during the weekday off peak and peak periods and on Saturday. Conclusions are given.
