Abstract

The papers presented at this conference deal with the progress and development in vehicle design and safety with reference to vehicle occupant protection, crashworthiness, accident avoidance requirements, and vehicle handling. The technical presentation are given by the representatives of the automotive industry from the USA, Japan, Federal Republic of Germany, the United Kingdom, Italy, France, Sweden, Belgium and the Netherlands, together with the papers presented at the technical sessions. The volume also contains a report of the accident avoidance and crashworthiness seminars, and a section on future safety standards and the experimental safety vehicle programme.
