Abstract
A brief description is given of the organization and operation of the Bridge Design Section, Department of Highways of Ontario (DHO). The use and selections of different types of structure are discussed. Continuous post-tensioned concrete bridge and other types of structures in common use are described in some detail, with an outline of design and detailing methods.
