Abstract

The Australian Road Safety Committee recognises that mopeds are an inexpensive form of personal transport and would assist the conservation of fuel resources. The Committee has always been concerned at the great number of motorcycle fatalities and injuries which occur each year, and will encourage the transfer motorcycle riders to mopeds. Therefore the Committee recommends that certain incentives, namely reduced licence and registration fees and third party insurance premiums should be given.
