Abstract

The National Transportation Safety Board made 5034 accident investigations during 1978. Safety problems are examined from 3 directions: 1) Significant steps taken to relieve known hazards, 2) Major facts of a safety problem that are still unresolved, 3) The possibilities for legislative or administrative action to remedy the situation.
