Abstract

Aspects of injury prevention are reviewed in separate papers. They deal with effectiveness of restraint systems, development of safety glass, characteristics of accidents involving cyclists, motorcyclists and pedestrians, and the biomechanics of pedestrian collisions as well as the vehicle-pedestrian interface. The development of a deformation index to evaluate collision damage severity is also discussed.
