Requirements for credit card payments in parking.

Abstract

The increasing use of integrated credit card systems for parking payment is traced and suggestions made for implementing such technology. The integration of credit card handling at self service paystations can increase the use of credit cards to over 90%. Configurations of integrated systems are discussed and the use of pin numbers considered. The advantages to customers are listed and include convenience, lack of queuing and reliability. The advantages to parking operators include less cash and cheque handling, data acquisition and minimal maintenance. The advantages to banks and card companies include improved service, non-disputed payments and profitable service fees.
