Abstract

The author states that just over half of the serious accidents in Britain occur at junctions. Systematic collection of accident debris at various junctions has indicated that the number of collisions which occur is up to ten times greater than the number of injury accidents actually reported. A review is given of established methods of improving at grade junction layout.
