Abstract

This article outlines the research projects in the action plan for 2001 at the Danish Road Institute. Aims for 2001 include transfer and development of road sector knowledge; development and use of materials and repair methods; support for environmental protection measures; control and testing of properties of roads and materials; professional operation of consultancy services; and development of effective interaction with road authorities. Research should result in employee satisfaction and better or cheaper solutions for society in general. It should be related to the road sector and should stimulate university research. The article lists the particular projects carried out in 2001 in: asphalt materials; bridge pavements; unbound and stabilised materials; bridge concrete; environmental concerns; and structural properties.
