With the increasing of mechanization level in China, parking difficulty has become one of important problems puzzling the traffic in some large andmiddle scale cities in China. Beginning with the developing history of parking guidance and information (PGI) technology in China, this paper researches and analyzes the characteristics and system schemes for first-generation and second-generation PGI in China, introduces the R&D status for third-generation PGI. In addition, this paper discusses the status of standardization research for China PGI and explains the key points of standardization tasks for next PGI in China. Finally, this paper introduces the application of second-generation PGI in China with Hang Zhou city as example. For the covering abstract see ITRD E134653.
