Abstract

This report summarizes the conceptional studies, engineering analysis, and design for providing energy absorbing barriers for fixed roadside objects. The overall objective of the program is to reduce both the incidence of injury producing accidents and economic losses due to property damage that occur in collisions between automobiles and fixed objects near the roadway.
