Abstract

Studies have generally failed to find significant evidence for the effectiveness of current driver education programs in reducing accidents and violations. Implications of these findings are reviewed. Questions relating to appropriate goals for driver education programs, methods of improving driver education procedures and problems of conducting research in this field are also discussed.
