Resekortet (Travel Card) -- Coordinated Fare System for Journeys with Public Transport.

Abstract

By coordinating various actors´ fare system within public transport Resekortet aims to make it possible for the traveler to buy public transport journeys in the whole country with a locally issued travel card. The travel cards develop as smart contactless cards. To make the cards work at various actors the actors´ fare systems must be able to exchange information. Therefore the actors within the cooperation have agreed of a common standardfor the technology of the cards of the fare system. In present day the technological development is in progress in Sweden and Denmark. In Sweden the development of the systems is coordinated by Resekortet in Sweden and inDenmark by Rejsekort A/S. The technological standard is provided by the common corporation Resekortet Norden AB.
