A reservoir model alternative to the unit hydrograph for flood estimation.

Abstract

A simple non-linear reservoir catchment model is described and compared to the unit hydrograph. Both models are calibrated using data form a Kenyan catchment. It is shown that the new model requires less data for calibration and is capable of more accurate flood prediction.
