Abstract

TRAVTEK, short for Travel Technology, was the operational field test of an advanced driver information and traffic management system. The evaluation of TRAVTEK was performed through the execution of twelve integrated studies. Evaluation data were obtained from over 4,000 volunteer drivers during the operation of 100 specially instrumented TRAVTEK cars from march 1992 to march 1993 in orlando, florida. Results of the evaluation support the value of TRAVTEK for achieving certain goals of the U.S. Intelligent vehicle-highway systems (IVHS) program. (A)
