Abstract

Autopsies of 159 patients dying as a result of injuries received as passengers or drivers in automobiles were reviewed. 28 Individuals had injuries which if they had survived would have permitted their return to the some mental and physical health they had enjoyed prior to their accidents. These 28 were called the probable salvage group. The performance of resuscitative measures could have saved their life.
