Abstract

An interesting problem concerning traffic noise measurements in town streets is the question how much the measured sound levels, and, more generally, the statistical noise distributions are influenced by the reflections on the street buildings. Those reflections built up a reverberant sound field in addition to the direct field from the vehicle sources. The amount of reverberation in a street depends on its size, the nature of facades, the vegetation etc. In order to evaluate this it is tried to measure the reverberation times of town streets.
