Abstract

A first review of research upon car seat belts published between 1960 and 1977 was organized under fiver broad headings comprising (1) the extent of seat belt use; (2) attitudes to seat belts; (3) methods of influencing seat belt user; (4) the effectiveness of seat belts; and (5) the effectiveness of legislation compelling seat belt use. This second review is an updated version, using +- 500 abstracts.
