Abstract

Recent advances in pavement design have prompted many agencies to monitor factors that affect pavement performance and to correlate them to pavement response. Among these essential factors are environmental factors, in particular, seasonal variations in material characteristics. In the review presented here, environmental factors that are found to highly affect the pavement performance are summarized. In addition, a literature review of environmental and temperature correction models that are widely used in practice and/or research is presented.
