A review of freeway lighting practice.

Abstract

A summary of current overseas practice, and trends, in the lighting of rural and urban freeways is given. It includes a discussion on warrants for the installation of lighting adopted by various authorities, and also examines the levels of lighting and uniformity that are adopted when freeways are lit, together with some details of design. Guide lines for the lighting of Australian freeways are put forward. A discussion is added.
