Abstract

A review has been made of the sideway force coefficient at 50 km-h and of the skidding resistance value of 23 concrete roads. It is concluded that for heavily trafficked roads care is necessary in the use of sands containing a proportion of limestone and in the choice of the grading of limestone coarse aggregate. Recommendations are made for further work.
