This report offers an overview of pedestrian safety measures from the point of view of pedestrian interests; it is made on the basis of the judgment of 110 different measures possible taken to improve the safety of pedestrians. The aim of this excerise is to look at the effects of such measures, not only for safety, but also for the freedom of pedestrian movement, and the feeling of security. The cost-effectiveness of measures must be reviewed as well. A summary is offered from the pedestrians' points of view, and looks for more of less recommendable solutions. (A)
