Abstract

Results are presented and conclusions drawn to the effect that large statistically significant reductions in accident frequency in Australia could be obtained by: installing advisory speed signs on curves on rural roads; painting edge lines on rural roads; erecting post mounted reflectorized delineators on rural roads; painting lines across minor roads at junctions with major roads; and installing flashing warning devices at rural intersections.
