Abstract

This paper was presented at the `C-SHRP: Technical Insight Gained from the Canadian Long-Term Pavement Performance (C-LTPP) Project' Session. The Transportation Association of Canada (TAC) and the Canadian Strategic Highway Research Program (C-SHRP) have initiated a study to examine the structural design of sections included in C-SHRP's Long Term Pavement Performance (C-LTPP) sections. The purpose of the study is to evaluate the structural design (overlay thickness) calculated using a common or normalized approach and a number of design methodologies and compare the structures designed by these methods to those actually in-place. This paper documents the results to-date of this on-going study. The full report is scheduled to be published by TAC in September of 1996. (A)
