Abstract

Recommendations are made for the solution of the pedestrian problem in Australia. The solution must still be sought in the separation of the two types of traffic for safety's sake. The future is clearly the complete elimination of pedestrian as well as pedal cyclist traffic from roads used by motor traffic. The safety of pedal cyclists and motorcyclists both representing a problem of much less magnitude in Australia, is considered in the second and third part of this report.
