Abstract

The safety and cost of travel on Australian roads are at present adversely affected by the generally hazardous roadside environment. Therefore, from a review of published literature, an attempt was made to establish reduction of accidents, injuries and fatalities which could be expected in Australia. Recommendations were made for an appropriate treatment of the road reserve in relation those objects which might constitute a hazard.
