Abstract

Over the past decade, a vast amount of research on highway safety has been concentrated on accident reduction on express ways. Extensive recording of accident data makes it possible now to more reliable determine accident cause. The accident histories of sections of highway, with varying geometric features, have been compared. Model and dynamic tests have tested the efficiencies of several types of protective devices. This paper discusses the research and relates it to the select- etc.
