Abstract

The Royal Automobile Club of Victoria (RACV) believes that the review of speed limits in Victoria has resulted in consistent speed zoning throughout Victoria, especially on arterial roads in urban areas. The RACV has reviewed many of the speed zoning changes throughout Victoria and is confident that appropriate speed limits now apply in almost every instance. This submission details RACV's views on Victoria's speed management program, the review of speed limits, the Social Development Committee's recommendations from the 1991 Inquiry into Speed Limits in Victoria and issues related to speed enforcement, particularly by speed cameras.
