Abstract

RFID technology enables electronic and automated identification of vehicle, freight container, returnable transport unit and package through the whole supply chain and improves the performance of the chain. New RFID products with increased performance have entered the market. The aim of this paper is to describe the situation in Finland: The state-of-the-art, a vision for the period of next 5 to 10 years, description of the RFID world in logistics such as drivers, trends, breakthroughs and actions of the market leaders.
