Abstract

This publication includes a large number of directions for using, and recommendations for selecting, applying and positioning parking signs and sub-plates, and also includes any measures needed in conjunction with such. The primary aim of this is to increase the degree of uniformity and consistency in sign-posting parking provisions, thereby reducing the possible incidence of any (inadvertent) ambiguity. The introduction of two new parking signs will help plug a gap in existing regulations. In the first place this involves the use of a universally applicable sign for sign-posting paid parking facilities, with a variant of such for zonal parking. Application of this sign is strongly recommended. The second new sign concerns the uniform indication of a parking sign for large vehicles. There is also a new uniform sub-plate or informatory sign to reiterate the enforcement of zonal parking.
