Abstract

This report presents the new Dutch motorway signalization requirements. These requirements are the successor of the 1975 specifications. Important changes are: (1) the maximum amount of information on the signposts; (2) the inclusion of both the road diversion and Variable Message Sign chapters in relation to signalization requirements; and (3) the more extensive traffic sign designation of road user provisions along the motorway. The motorway signalization requirements form together with the non-motorway signalization recommendations and with the designation policy the new Dutch signalization requirements. See also IRRD 867143 (C 2922) and 867145 (C 2924).
