Abstract

THE DATA USED BY ZADOR, MOSHMAN AND MARCUS TO ESTIMATE THE EFFECTS OF RIGHT-TURN-ON-RED ON ACCIDENTS WERE REANALYZED. IN THIS ANALYSIS, THE DATA WERE LESS AGGREGATED THAN ZADOR ET AL USED. THE RESULT WAS THAT THE INCREASE IN RIGHT-TURN ACCIDENTS AT SIGNALIZED INTERSECTIONS ASSOCIATED WITH THE INTRODUCTION OF RIGHT-TURN-ON-RED WAS ONLY 14, NOT 21 PER CENT AS FOUND BY ZADOR ET AL. (Author/publisher).
