Abstract

During the period 1980 through June 1984 there were 43 cases of occupational injuries registered caused by explosions of tyres and rims in Sweden. Enclosing in a cage the wheel being inflated might be an effective method of reducing the risk of serious injury. A Swedish protective case was tested experimentally and in real life. An occupational safety standard will be set up in 1985.
