Abstract

This annotated bibliography on the risky driver is presented in two sections. Section I, Novice and Impaired Drivers, covers the following: prediction models and potential ameliorating conditions; driving patterns; correlates of risky driving; risk perceptions; interventions; and licensing issues. Section II, Elderly Drivers, addresses the following: prediction models and potential ameliorating conditions; driving patterns; sensory/perceptual/cognitive and psychomotor correlates of risky driving; predicting accidents and insurance claims using a battery of tests and measures; physical fitness and the relationship to normal driving; attitudes toward driving; interventions; the relationship of symptoms, diseases and medications to accidents and driving cessation; diagnosis of dementia; driving with dementia; and licensing issues.
