Abstract

A description of a number of commonly used trip end modelling techniques is given. The advantages and disadvantages of regression analysis and category analysis, on the one side and zonal models versus household- and person models on the other side are discussed briefly. The second part of the article deals with a trip generation technique which is primarily based on category analysis by person categories, but also utilises regression analysis. The utility of such model is analysed from the results obtained.
