Abstract

The main objective of the study was to identify the principal causes of accidents involving a heavy track and the road safety risks for these vehicles in the Eastern Quebec region. The principal road safety risks identified are: weather conditions; long hours of driving; mechanical condition of the vehicle and its design; driver's training and information; the often inadequate system of roadsigns and the road system.
