Abstract

This paper presents a brief overview of accident patterns and trends in New Zealand between 1980 and 1987. Identified as especially important are: young male adults, night time accidents from Thursday to Saturday, accidents on curves, alcohol and speed. Generally accident increases have been highest in the Northern part of the country.
