Abstract

Nigerian developments in road and rail transport are examined divided into four main parts: the transport policy with particular reference to its implication for the development of road and rail; capital investment in transport with emphasis in the dominant share of both modes and the issue of governmental control; the performance of rail and road showing the progressive decline of the former and the increasing dominance of the latter; the developments in both modes.
