Abstract
Speedy and safe delivery of the injured in road accidents is necessary for improved chances of survival or full recovery. Certain environmental conditions, such as remoteness, poor weather, night, or difficult terrain, may impede notification and arrival of an ambulance. Some delays are due to the distances involved. Other delays are due to difficulties in notification. Some reasons for delay are idiosyncratic. This paper presents results on an analysis of statistical data taken from the FARS file.
