Abstract

It can be concluded that road lighting is a viable accident counter measure. A wealth of data substantiate the earlier conclusion that the initial implementation of good traffic route lighting, or replacement of sub-standard lighting, on urban all-purpose traffic roads significantly reduces both the number and severity of casualty accidents with 30%.
