A manual for road pavement inspection applicable to Third World countries' conditions is presented. The report starts with the Background and Needs of this activity and, apart from a list of definitions, has six chapters- Introduction; Establishing a Road Monitoring Scheme; Road Condition Survey Detailed Visual Inspection; Data Processing and Storage; Training- - and four annexes - - Basic Instruction for Implementing Inspection Activities, Assessment of Road Surface Roughness (Evenness), Summary of Damage Catalogue, Assessment Using Special Measuring Equipment.
