Abstract

It is very probable indeed that no consumer product in widespread, growing circulations has a greater inbuilt "potential" than the motor vehicle for dealing out death, injury and property damage. Much worse still, this "potential" is very fully realised, making the road traffic environment by far the most lethal one (periods of military conflict excluded) to which the men and women of today are constantly exposed.
