Abstract

Road Safety Audit is a systematic procedure which incorporates traffic safety knowledge into the road planning and design process with the purpose of preventing traffic accidents. The concept of Road Safety Audit used in different countries as well as their level of experience differs considerably. The World Road Association (PIARC) Committee 13 on Road Safety has focuses on the subject. Information on current practice and experiences in different member states have been collected, analyses and discussed by the C13-WG3-members. The results of this work have been summarised in Part I. The content of Part II is a summary of Danish experiences. Part I and Part II have been presented at the C13-session about Road Safety Audit at the World Road Congress in Kuala Lumpur in October 1999. (Author/publisher)
