Abstract

This fact sheet explores the characteristics of car occupant fatalities. Cars comprise a considerable share of the vehicle fleet in the EU. Therefore, better understanding the characteristics specific to this user group provides an opportunity to address a large proportion of fatalities. Cars refer to both private vehicles as well as vehicles used for commercial purposes (like taxis). Car Occupant in this context refers to both the driver and any passengers. (Author/publisher)
