Abstract

Each year 40.000 people die on European roads due to traffic accidents. Even though progress has been made these last few years to reduce the number of casualties, it is still too much, far too much. Road safety measures should be taken at every level, by everyone involved, but also by each one of us because road safety is everybody's business. The three video clips on this DVD show the recent progress and the trends for the coming years in the three areas that form the basis of road safety : vehicle safety, the behaviour of road users and the safety of the infrastructure.
