Road safety in Hungary.

Abstract

The paper begins with a presentation of the past 20 years Hungarian accident statistics together with attempts to analyse these figures. Following an international comparison the author tries to identify the most effective accident countermeasures of the nineties. Finally, some recommendations to improve the efficiency of accident prevention are provided.
